Sidelight

Sidelight displays a color on your screen. Sometimes you need a little extra light and finding a lamp isn’t worth the effort.

I made it at the start of the pandemic to light my remote work setup. Since then I’ve used it to add accent lighting to photos from my phone, and on a spare monitor on my desk.

Open it in its own window during a video call, pick a color that suits your room, and size the window as you like. Add a hex code to the URL hash to always load a specific color.
